Lafayette Adult Resource Academy

LARA receives public funding for program operations and United Way assistance for rent. LARA depends on contributions from individuals and organizations to help cover the costs of materials and equipment. Over the years, the program has received financial assistance from many generous stakeholders.

A not-for-profit corporation, entitled LARA Educational Opportunities, Inc. (LEO), was established in 2009 to procure community donations. This 501(c)3 provides financial support to LARA to fulfill its literacy needs. LEO’s mission is to “seek financial support through fund raising efforts in furtherance of LARA’s work in providing youth and adults instruction in academic, life, and workforce skills.”

LEO receives donations in any amount and at any time. Community contributions, which generate dollars from many individuals, have netted significant revenue over time.
